Welcome to Capt. Bob's Marina. This year marks our 48th year that we have had the pleasure in helping families have a memorable vacation while visiting our beautiful islands. Whether your interest is going to the beach, fishing, crabbing, kayaking or enjoying the breathtaking views of nature by boat - our crew will help make your vacation more enjoyable
We rent 16' fiberglass boats for fishing, crabbing or sightseeing or, for the faint of heart; we have 24' deck boats. To quote one family "It was the highlight of our vacation, the only time everyone agreed on what we would do as a family AND we all had a great time!" Maybe you are the more adventurous type - want to explore the islands and visit wildlife at its level? If so, we also rent touring kayaks with rutters, single or doubles. You and your love ones can explore our tributaries and discover the reason why so many have fallen in love with this area. Not that adventurous but still want to kayak? We have tours twice daily, 7AM and 6PM, which last 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Whether you are a novice or experienced kayaker, you will really enjoy the tour.
The crew at Capt. Bob's will share fishing information with you, telling the "hot spots" and which baits are being used. If crabbing is what makes your day, then by all means, come by and see us! We can "turn you on" to some of the best crabbing "secret" spots and the crabs are meaty, too! Got a taste for some steamed clams? We didn't get the reputation of the being "the resourceful marina" by accident!!
Is "offshore" your passion? The waters off the islands of Chincoteague and Assateague are known as the most productive offshore fishing grounds north of North Carolina. Our reputation for being the closest to the offshore Hot Spots for Tuna, Wahoo, Mako, Dolphin and wrecks bring Blue Water anglers from as far away as New York. We carry everything you will need to land the big one from baits, tackle and ice to gasoline!
Just vacationing - no boat? No Problem! Capt. Bob's Marina books charters for inshore/channel, offshore and wreck fishing. Our charter captains are focused on insuring your fishing trip is truly an experience you will remember. Also available for charter are clamming cruises. You have not really enjoyed the taste of clams until you have treated your palate to Chincoteague Salts - especially if you have caught them yourself (that's local slang for "digging clams")!
If you are more inclined to appreciate the splendor of our Islands, then consider taking a nature cruise. Morning person? Want to be energized by the intense beauty of sunrise? Or does the temptation of a relaxing sunset cruise cater to you? Whether it's the breathtaking scenery of the sun rising or setting, the endless creeks and jetties where numerous birds call home or the thrill of schools of dolphins being playful next to the boat - your life will be more enriched after taking a nature cruise. You really have not experienced the exquisiteness of Chincoteague or Assateague Islands until you have viewed them from the water!
